ARCADIA, Calif. (AP)—Jockey Garrett Gomez had medicine Thursday for a
broken left heel that will keep him out of a saddle for 4 to 6 weeks.
Gomez’s agent, Tony Matos, says a medicine was finished during a Kerlan-Jobe
Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Gomez was harmed Sunday before a Daytona Stakes during Santa Anita when his
mount Silver Summation unseated a 40-year-old supplement before flipping over
backward withdrawal a paddock.
Gomez had been off to a good start during a track’s winter assembly with six
stakes victories by a initial 10 days, including a Sham Stakes with Out
of Bounds final weekend.
